2 Months (12th March 2011)

It doesn’t feel like I’ve already been away from England for two months, but it has!
So what have I been doing during this time? Well, mainly teaching, serving lunch and trying to make the children understand that NOT every English word finished in “-ing”, or that there is a very big difference between saying “I’m bor-ED” and “i’m bor-ING”. Luckily most of them have been catching on here.
Two months ago I was rushing through Gatwick, about to miss my flight over to Barcelona, as well as nearly losing my coat, bag, suitcase and even trousers as I ran to the departure gate, whilst the airport speakers blared out: “This is the last call for EasyJet passenger Mr ……………………… ; our flight is now ten minutes delayed”, and so on. It has now been two months since then, and so many things have happened that I had forgotten this little embarrassment until I started writing this post.
Seeing as I only work half days, I thought that there ought to be something else I could do other than take amazing photographs all day long from my window. I had already started thinking of getting a Summer job in either Germany or Switzerland, so I decided to enroll at the Goethe Institut in Barcelona on an intensive German course. So I have spent one or two hours a day learning long, impossible German words, and the rest of the time taking pictures or attempting to squeeze a bit of money out of my parents for odd trips! In all fairness to them, though, I have already started setting aside money to pay back what I owe them…
