It’s interesting that these two squares are so similar to each other… Apparently the Montserrat square is heavily inspired by the Rome one. I only spotted the similarity after visiting Rome… I thought I had been there before!
Here is a selection of photos from Rome (weekend of 1st/2nd April 2011). As mentioned at the top of my blog, I spent less just under 24 hours in Rome itself and took over 500 pictures... and there is absolutely no way that I can upload all of them! So here are a few:
These last few pictures were taken at the Roman Forum; I had studied some of the imagery on some of the temples' columns, so it was very nice to see these images first hand finally!
This last picture was taken at the Doria Pamphilj Gallery in the middle of Rome. i had been told many times before by a certain somebody that here is where Velazquez's very famous portrait of Pope Pius is housed.... indeed it was, in a room all of it's own!
