Locked Out (22nd January 2011)

We are all still getting accustomed to finding new people around the buildings. I’m trying to learn about seventy names (I still only know about 5!) and everyone else has only one new name to learn. It’s quite funny though: you would expect them all to learn my name quite quickly, but there is still one person who is convinced that my name is Ricardo… It almost sounds like I’m back in England!
I’ve also found out that I’m the first Gap Student they have over here. Its very new for everyone, because this is not a normal job like it is in most English public schools, where having Gap Students has existed for some years. I’m probably the only one in Catalunya, and almost probably in the whole of Spain too! It makes me feel quite important really, and quite lucky to have found this opportunity! The most important thing for me is to hear the choir. I remember an old chorister from my school choir commenting that we should sing at Montserrat at some point, because it is apparently the greatest choir in the world. Well, it definitely is among the best I have ever heard!
I’m trying to not get locked out at any moment. Obviously, like any school the doors close at a certain time, so it is important that I am never on the wrong side. However, today it happened. But luckily I got help from the hotel!
